US Horse Youth Equestrian Academy

For kids who love horses and want to learn it all!

Ages 6–18 • Beginners through advanced intermediate

The Academy combines a weekly two-hour group session with a weekly private or semi-private riding lesson for focused individual instruction. Students are grouped by age and ability and learn both in and out of the saddle.

What Students Learn

• Safe horse handling, grooming, tacking, and riding basics

• Groundwork, horse care, nutrition, and basic first aid

• Flatwork and jumping as riding skills develop

• Confidence, patience, responsibility, focus, teamwork, and leadership

How the Academy Works

• 12 weekly group Academy sessions

• 12 weekly private or semi-private riding lessons (not required but highly encouraged in order for your child to progress with others included in the FULL ACADEMY package, scheduled separately)

• Group sessions are approximately half mounted riding and half unmounted horsemanship

FALL QUARTER ‍ Meets Weekly on Wednesdays 5:30 - 7:30 PM Begins 9/30, runs through 12/23

This level provides your child with the weekly group academy, their weekly private/semi-private lesson, and full access to all club activities for free.

________________________________ GROUP ACADEMY: GROUP PACKAGE ONLY Provides 12 Group Sessions, 2 hours each, Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 Beginning 09/30 and ending 12/23. Does not include any private/semi-private lessons or club activities.

_________________________________ FALL QUARTER: FALL LESSON PACKAGE ONLY Provides your child with 12 private or semi/private lessons to be used within the quarter. Feel free to double up if vacations will keep you away for a week. 30 min Private or 45 min Semi-private. Package of 12: $760

Enrollment, Cancellations & Makeups

• Students may join after the quarter begins, if space is available, at a prorated amount based on the remaining sessions.

• The group Academy session is fixed. If a student misses it, that session is forfeited and cannot be made up, rescheduled, or carried forward.

• Private and semi-private lessons may be rescheduled within the same 13-week quarter, subject to instructor availability.

• At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a private or semi-private lesson without being charged. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged to the package.

• Private and semi-private lessons must be used within the 13-week quarter unless doctors note provided for significant health issue.

• Payment is due in full before the first class or lesson. ALL Lesson packages are nonrefundable.

• Cancellations for Academy Group only eligible for 50% refund if done at least two weeks before the program begins. No refunds are issued once the program begins.

What to Bring & Weather

Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots and dress for the weather. Bring water and a light snack. The program runs in most weather. If USHWR cancels riding because of extreme conditions, that riding time will be made up. Main barn is heated and heaters are provided within the riding arena as well.
