MY HOW WE HAVE GROWN! Our community’s favorite program now offers more horse time than ever. This program is very appropriate for kids up to age 12, allowing each to grow their skills at their own pace.

Sign your kids up today for what has become a Farmington Valley staple for kids ages 6-11. The kids get some horsemanship time as they learn about horses & the grooming and caring for them. They do some chores (don’t you love it when they come home tired and have been out in the fresh air?), have some arts and crafts time, play games, and even slip in a pony ride or two,  all while organically developing skills in leadership, teamwork, patience, respect, boundaries, responsibility, coping skill, learning to destress and more. Small groups, lots of fresh air! Participants should wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots and dress for the weather. This program runs in all types of weather; the main barn is heated to 42 degrees. You will receive notice should the program need to be canceled for a day.

Sturdy closed-toe shoes are required.  This program runs in all types of weather so dress accordingly! You will receive notice should the program need to be canceled for the day.

Cancellations made within 2 weeks prior to the start date will be refunded 50% of the payment.  No refunds are issued once the program starts.

Teens to the Rescue

Ages 12 and up

3:30-5:30 pm, Wednesdays

$250/8 week session

Be a part of something bigger in your community by helping care for USHWR’s rescued horses!  We have a great group of kids who come every week to help do a few chores and learn about caring for our horses, all under the watchful eye of an instructor.  This program is great for kids who need to get out of the house for a bit or need some volunteer hours but are a little too young to be accepted into most volunteer programs.

From learning horsemanship to barn management, your child will learn life skills and develop self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, and more while making new friends, both 4-legged and 2-legged, in this fun weekly program.

Sturdy closed-toe shoes are required.  This program runs in all types of weather so dress accordingly! You will receive notice should the program need to be cancelled for the day.

Cancellations made within 2 weeks before the start date will be refunded 50% of the payment.  No refunds are issued once the program starts.
