USHWR is offering an exciting program for the 2024/2025 Holiday/New Year vacation for youths ages 6 and up.

Give your child the opportunity to feel like they own their own pony/horse during this year’s Holiday vacation. Each day your child can care for their pony/horse for up to 3.5 hours of time. Monday through Saturday they can arrive as early as 9 AM and the program runs to 12:30 PM. (Sundays are not available.) 

They will learn about horse care, including grooming, barn management, cleanliness, horse health, feeding, and more. They can read to them, sit with them, muck their stalls, and feed them. Each day they will have a riding lesson. 

Participants must have enough experience with horses to be able to work independently. A facilitator will be supervising however, this is not a one-on-one program. 

USHWR will match the participants to the pony/horse best suited to them.

This program runs in all types of weather; the main barn is heated to 42 degrees. You will receive notice should the program need to be canceled for a day.                                                                        

Cancellations made within 2 weeks prior to the start date will be refunded 50% of the payment.  No refunds are issued once the program starts.
