Governance & Transparency Policies

  • US Horse Welfare & Rescue (“USHWR”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors.

USHWR collects donor information only when voluntarily provided in connection with a financial contribution. This information may include a donor’s name, mailing address, email address, phone number, donation amount, donation date, and communication preferences. USHWR does not knowingly collect or store Social Security numbers or full credit card or bank account information.

Donor information is used exclusively for donor-related purposes, including processing and acknowledging donations, issuing tax receipts, maintaining accurate donor records, and meeting legal, audit, and compliance requirements.

USHWR does not sell, trade, rent, or share donor information with any individual or organization for marketing, solicitation, or fundraising purposes. Donor information may be shared only with trusted third-party service providers (such as donation processing platforms) strictly for the purpose of processing donations, or when required by law. All such providers are required to maintain confidentiality.

Online donations are processed through secure third-party platforms that comply with industry security standards. USHWR does not store or have access to full payment details.

Donors may request anonymity, update their information, or opt out of communications at any time. USHWR honors all such requests promptly. USHWR uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect donor information and retains donor records only as long as required for legal and reporting purposes.
