MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY!

Our Community Outreach to Horse Owners

US Horse Welfare & Rescue is unique in what we do and the services we provide. Our Community Outreach program is first and foremost meant to help horse owners keep their horses healthy and safe from the horse slaughter pipeline. US Horse Welfare & Rescue was originally founded as a welfare organization with a mission to advocate for America’s domestic and wild horses nationally, educate horse owners about the inherent risks awaiting their horses once they leave their owner’s sight, and provide supportive programs to owners to help eliminate the risk of horses getting into the wrong hands.

We believe in supporting horse owners across the country who are facing difficult times with their equines and often provide consultation to owners seeking advice as to what is best for their horse. We often help owners find new and safe forever homes through our networks, and provide our strict adoption agreements between the two parties. On occasion we will provide financial support for euthanasia or for some hay until the owner can get back on their feet, no matter where the horses are in the country…hence our name! USHWR believes it is our duty to take an active role in educating all people on the plight of America’s domestic and wild horses and do our utmost to keep every horse out of harm’s way.

CURRENT PROGRAM STATUS: USHWR is most often at full capacity however we encourage you to reach out if your best efforts to find a safe home have failed. We may be able to help you find a loving and safe home. The following types of assistance are available to applicants in need of help:

USHWR is most often full, however, whenever any horse is at risk of abuse, neglect, or shipping to slaughter, we will do our best to help find a temporary foster or a forever home for that horse to ensure its safety.
